When we first began thinking about what would become Paused.club, we were not looking to create another holiday park.
We were responding to something we had seen, felt and heard again and again from people around us: families, professionals, business owners, parents and friends who were doing everything they were “supposed” to be doing, but quietly running on empty.
Life had become very full. Weekends were often planned before they arrived. Holidays needed booking months in advance. Even rest had started to feel like something that had to be organised, optimised and squeezed into the gaps.
We kept coming back to one thought.
What if people did not just need somewhere to go away to?
What if they needed somewhere to return to?
That question stayed with us. Not a hotel, not a rental, not a one-off escape, but a place of their own. Somewhere familiar, private and peaceful. Somewhere that made it easier to step out of the pace of normal life and into a different rhythm, again and again.
A Place With The Right Qualities
Hampshire Hills became the place where that idea started to feel real.
Set on a quiet hilltop near Winchester and Alresford, with views across the Hampshire countryside towards the South Downs National Park, it had the qualities we knew could not be manufactured. The space, the stillness, the dark skies, the wildlife, the feeling of being away from it all while still being within reach of London – those things were already there.
Our role was not to invent the atmosphere. It was to recognise it, protect it and build the next chapter around it.

More than 500 guest reviews have also given the setting an average rating of between 4.9 and 5 stars.
Most recently, Hampshire Hills was placed in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice 2026 award category, which recognises places ranked within the top 10% worldwide based on traveller reviews and ratings.
For us, these awards are not simply badges. They are proof of something more important: that quiet, care, nature and a beautifully kept setting still matter deeply.

Now, we are preparing to open that experience in a new way.
A limited number of ownership opportunities will be introduced at Hampshire Hills as the founding Paused.club location, giving a small community of owners the chance to return to this hilltop not as guests, but as part of its next chapter.
